1. That you'll be safe
2. That moonlight is really playing a trick on you. There is nothing swimming under your treading legs
3. That the water is as warm as it looks
4. The sun feels good
5. There's no possible way some unseen animal is stalking you
6. The tide won't drop you miles from here
7. You look great in that swimsuit, kid
8. The bleached bones on the shore belong to a familiar creature
9. Broken beer bottles just wear down into sand anyway
10. The smell of the shells you're bringing home will eventually fade
